1. Judges are looking for a quality manuscript.
2. Manuscripts may be sent in an electronic format or typed, double spaced, on one side of A4. If manuscripts are sent in an electronic format then a hard copy must be made available if requested.
3. Manuscripts can be submitted for entry as soon as they are completed.
4. It is strongly recommended that entrants keep a copy of their manuscript.
5. Manuscripts will not be returned under any circumstances. They will be shredded and destroyed after the judging process.
6. No guarantee can be given that the winning novel will be published. However we have every expectation that publication will follow.
7. Entrants are requested to co-operate in publicity activities related to the prize.
8. The winning entrant and entrants selected for the final short-list may receive the offer of publication from the publisher, Polygon. Entrants must be prepared to accept the offer of publication by Polygon and the terms outlined below:
a. The terms included the granting of a publishing licence throughout the world and that the offer of a royalty advance of £1,000 is non-negotiable.
b. In all other respects the publishing agreement will conform to the terms and conditions recommended by the Society of Authors. |
